Sports

Alright, obvious up front. Catching a game at Wrigley (and enjoying the many bars of surrounding Wrigleyville) is one of the best experiences Chicago has to offer.

Food scene

- Twin Anchors Restaurant & Tavern - Best ribs north of the Mason-Dixon line. Maybe even better than anything you'll find in the Southland too. For real. Frank Sinatra used to have a personal assistant fly to Chicago, pick up a to-go order of ribs from Twin Anchors, and then fly back to Vegas so that he could eat them before his show. And I totally understand why he did it. As you may have guessed from the Frank Sinatra reference, this place is a landmark. One of the oldest bars in the city, and it's a treasured fixture in the neighborhood. Equally treasured is the waitstaff. Several of the staff have been faithfully serving up wings, ribs, and beers to the good people of Chicago for decades. Just an all-around awesome spot

- The Jay Parker - An awesome rooftop bar & restaurant at the top of the Lincoln Hotel. Full disclosure - I've never actually eaten here, but the cocktails are solid. The real reason you come here, though, is for the views. The hotel is seated at the edge of Lake Michigan, and you'll get to enjoy sweeping views of the water as you sip your drink. Great date spot!

Neighborhoods

A super fun, lively area that is packed with great bars & even better eats. I could say a lot more, but others already have and I'm lazy. For a complete guide to the neighborhood, check out this link: https://www.hotspotrentals.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-chicagos-old-town-neighborhood/

Activities

Now, if you're not from the Chicago area, beaches may not come to mind when you think of the city, but Chi is actually a great place for a beach day (provided your stay occurs during the three months of the year in which the city is not encased in ice & snow). North Avenue Beach is my personal favorite, and on a nice day you'll find a lively crowd of other beach-goers enjoying the sun & sand too. Great place to relax with a beer, play spikeball or volleyball with friends, or just work on your tan.

A whimsical Wizard of Oz themed park on the northside. The Wizard of Oz always gave me the heebee-jeebees as a kid, but it's a fun activity for a family.

A bit of twist on the old paint & pour model, this is a really fun & interesting event to do by yourself or with friends! At Studio WIP, you'll learn the basics of street art from the awesome artists & staff of Native 312 and create your own original art work. No artistic experience or inclination required, but you do need to bring your own beer if you wanna partake in the sipping!
