Another great place to eat if you're driving up the coast. It is a private beach and you can lounge in the sand if you so desire! Parking is crazy expensive but with the restaurant validation it is $6 with a 4-hour limit. Then you hit titanium pricing all over again. (Around $30) But 4 hours should give you plenty of time to eat and hang-out. Take a walk on their rickety looking pier, or just enjoy the sand and surf. Conversely, if you just want to spend time at the beach you can park up on PCH and walk down the road. Reservations are suggested.

A landmark seafood joint on the Pacific Coast Highway. The menu is casual, a lot of fried food. No table service. Known for being a biker hang-out, you'll see plenty of 'hogs' lined up out in front. Gets crowded on the weekends, but so does everywhere else. I wouldn't make this a destination for the food alone, but if you're up in 'the bu' as Malibu is called, you might want to stop in for a bite and check out the unique atmosphere. Good spot to see surfers doing their thing at the County Line beach.

Musso & Frank's has a history that reads like a Hollywood script. Deals were made on the old pay phone — the first pay phone to be installed in Hollywood. Scripts were discussed over a famous Musso’s martini. Contracts were signed over exquisite meals of Roast Duck and Lamb Chops. Stars were born. This is a museum way off the beaten track. If you're into the esoteric, you should go and you will get bragging rights because this is a place most tourists never see. The museum contains an unusual collection of exhibits and objects with varying and uncertain degrees of authenticity. New York Times critic Edward Rothstein described it as a "museum about museums", "where the persistent question is: what kind of place is this?" Smithsonian magazine called it "a witty, self-conscious homage to private museums of yore . . . when natural history was only barely charted by science, and museums were closer to Renaissance cabinets of curiosity." In a similar vein, The Economist said the museum "captures a time chronicled in Richard Holmes's recent book The Age of Wonder, when science mingled with poetry in its pursuit of answers to life's mysterious questions."

This is a smaller beach with a significant rock formation at it's southernmost end. This is a popular film location and, of particular note, this beach was where they shot the final scene of the original "Planet of the Apes" movie.

It is a long and wide strip of sandy beach extending a mile or two. Great place to play volleyball, surf, body surf and people watch. Surf lessons are available as well. Like all State beaches there is an $8 parking fee. There are amenities and snack bars. Just south of Zuma is a sign for Westward Beach. There are many private spots to enjoy the beauty here. There are a lot of inlets between the rocks which creates sort of private mini beaches. The caves and tide pools are fun to explore and the views are just stunning. Easy parking, easy beach access, lots of walking trails above the beaches.

There is a campground here that is very popular with the hiking set. But there is also a day-use area on the beach side of PCH that is a nice spot to hang out, use the barbecue facilities, or bring a picnic and lounge on the beach.

The Ballona Wetlands is a nature preserve which has three different parts.. freshwater marsh, saltwater marsh and a dune area. There is also a public trail (just off the corner of Jefferson and Lincoln Boulevards) that displays informational signage for those wanting to explore on their own, though there are several free tours given by the group that oversees the preserve. A great spot for bird watching, there are over 200 species of birds as well as other flora and fauna. But if you just want to take a nice walk, the public trail along the marsh is a pleasant outing. You can park on the south side of Jefferson Blvd. For more information check their website: http://www.ballonafriends.org

A smaller outdoor venue than the Hollywood Bowl, the Greek Theatre is an intimate spot to see great music and picnic on the grounds. We have a picnic basket you can borrow! See their website for more info: https://www.lagreektheatre.com

If you are a baseball fan, and even if you are not, catching a ball game at Dodger Stadium during baseball season is big fun! Tickets can be bought online or at the box office if the game is not sold out. Not to be missed are Dodger dogs - an exceedingly long hot dog - definitely the best in the major leagues in my opinion! If you don't want to park (and spend $20 at the gate), take the Metro to Union Station. From there there is a bus that will take you to the stadium free of charge. Give yourself enough time though! Tickets and schedule can be found here on the Dodger's website: http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=la You can also choose to buy tickets privately through stubhub: http://www.stubhub.com Expect to pay more on this site! The most reasonable seats are in the bleachers in the outfield.

How can you miss the "Happiest Place on Earth?" It's iconic, crowded and expensive. But if you've never been, you have to go at least once! California Adventure Park is adjacent and charges a separate entrance fee - but there may be some special rates for both, so do check that out.

This is one of the Metro stops on the Expo line that will take you to downtown LA and other Metro train connections. There is a large parking lot at this location. The other closest Metro stop is on Bundy Ave though parking is limited. The Expo line will also take you to Santa Monica and either the Sepulveda/Exposition station (has a bigger parking lot) or the Bundy/Exposition station would be a closer ride to Santa Monica than the Washington/National stop. The Washington/National stop is a better one for when you want to head downtown.
