Edam was allowed to build it’s own harbour in 1357 and was once a very well-known trading village in the 17th Century. You can admire the rich history everywhere in the authentic Edam village and also in the Edam museum. A modern day tip: Explore the old traditional cheese warehouse with their very own in house bakery, Bakhuis de Koophandel and of course try this delicious delicacy for yourself!
