This is where you are going to find all the homes that are ski in/ski out. The mountain village is a little more quiet than the town center. You will still find restaurants and some shops up here on the mountain as well.

This area is going to be more around the golf course area. There are bus stops here that you can take that will take you into town center and also up the mountain to the ski resort. The meadow village offers Nordic skiing trails. Some of our properties have Nordic ski-in/ski-out access as well.

When you are visiting Big Sky you are usually here for one of two things- skiing or Yellowstone. Big Sky is just a short 45 minutes to the entrance of one of the Nation's most prized national parks. During a trip here you can experience once in a lifetime wildlife sightings, incredible scenery, and unforgettable history.

For basic water recreating, this is by far the top recommended for Big Sky. This lake is up in the center of the Mountain Village. You can enjoy the beach area, kayak, paddle board, or even do some fishing. It is a fairly small lake, so you won't see large watercrafts in there.

For a casual, and pure southern meal stop by the Riverhouse. Their fried chicken is out of this world. Very family friend and laid-back atmosphere.

The Skyline Bus
It is recommended to plan a rental car when visiting Big Sky. And in winter be sure to get a vehicle with 4WD. But, if you want to scale back on expenses, there is the shuttle that you can take to get around the town. It also takes you directly to the base of Big Sky Resort.

Most all of our homes don't come equipped with your basic baby gear. You will want to arrange rentals ahead of time. We have worked with Kami at Big Sky Baby Gear for several of our guests and she is the best! She will have your items dropped off the day of your arrival, and you don't have to worry about a thing.

Pack for all 4 Seasons!
Montana can be very unpredictable when it comes to the weather. If you are traveling here in the winter, it is a no brainer what you want to bring. However, summer can be a little crazy at times. Definitely bring some sweaters, and raincoats. Closed toed shoes, and warm clothes are always encouraged. This is largely based on where you are traveling from, as you may already be acclimated for the colder weather. However, if you are coming up from some of the warmer states- be prepared to be a little chilly!

Town Center Farmer's Marker is a Must!
From June until the end of September, every Wednesday from 5-8pm, Big Sky has its weekly farmer's market. This will take place in the heart of town center. You will find an array of local grown produce vendors, hand crafted art pieces from locals, and amazing food. If you are staying in any of our properties in the Town Center, you are only a short walk from event.

Thursday Night Music in the Mountains
Every Thursday night from June until September, there is a free concert that takes place in the Town Center of Big Sky. It starts at 6pm, and it is a family friendly event. The park opens up at 6 and music usually starts around 7ish.
