The Curious Cafe on the Bath road is a must visit for a hearty breakfast. The Blacksmith is quite a plateful but the Apprentice is more manageable and is highly recommended. If the weather is fine the garden at the back is a beautiful place to sit and has a boho vibe.

The bar of local hotel 131, at the top of the promenade opposite Imperial Gardens, this can get very busy and is popular with festival goers, locals and those on weekend breaks. Lots of semi outdoor seating, the prices are high and the service can be a little hit and miss.

Tucked away on at the bottom of a side street in the Suffolks area is The Beehive, a firm favourite with locals, but with a friendly vibe. There's more space to dine upstairs with the option of private room hire and outside spaces to the front and back of the pub.
