Queensland's oldest lighthouse, first lit in 1857 to provide a navigation point for shipping movements along the northern coastline. In 1998 the lighthouse was made fully automatic and now has a laser beam which directs light up to 30kms out to sea.

Rous Battery was formed as a defence post to protect the port of Brisbane during World War II. Today, an array of concrete bunkers, storage rooms, gun emplacements and observation posts still remain hidden behind the dunes.

15 vessels were deliberately sunk between 1963 and 1984 to create a break wall for small boats. The wrecks are home to over 200 species of tropical fish, and are an incredible snorkelling and diving site.
