It's in the Bella Vista neighborhood close to the Italian Market. It holds art and community events annually in the adjacent Cianfrani Park which has a Mural Arts fall mural. There are 4 buildings designed by famous Philly architect Frank Furness's firm. The interior of the church is lovely, and open for visitors at events like their fall pumpkin carving fundraiser.

If in town on New Year's Day, check out the mummers parade! It starts at city hall and proceeds south on broad street to Washington Ave (a 30 minute walk for paraders, but you can sit to watch anywhere on the route -- near Kimmel center is a great choice)
