During the warm months you will not spot manatees but the education center has some great exhibits and the view of the intracoastal waterway is picture perfect. During a cold snap dozens of manatees will congregate in the warm waters spilling out of the power plant. Great picnic spot anytime of year. Best of all its only a few blocks from the apartment and free.

A water taxi from the Port of Palm Beach marina or Sailfish marina will leave you on the island for a day excursion or you can rent a boat or kayak to get there from local vendors.

Interesting shops, great restaurants and a beautiful giant tree lite up with thousands of LED lights round up this entertainment district in the heart of downtown. There are also dancing fountains for kids to play in during the summer months and live music and other entertainment on select weekends. Ride WPB shuttle, bike share and Circuit ride shared vehicles make it easy to get from The Square to other points around downtown.

Drives and transport
Florida isn't known for public transportation but WPB does have some options, especially in and around downtown. I highly recommend downloading the Circuit app as these electric vehicles are available for free throughout downtown and to and from Palm Beach island. Downtown and Northwood Village also have a free van shuttle called Ride WPB. Brightbike are bright yellow rental bikes with stations throughout downtown.
There are lots of garages downtown. Look for City garages for a low rate of just $2 for 2 hours weekdays/$5 all-day weekends. On-street metered parking is also available.
