Built entirely using traditional methods and materials, the Swaminarayan mandir has been described as being Britain's first authentic Hindu temple. The building is absolutely stunning inside and out. You don't have to be a Hindu to enter. You can go there for a free tour and participate in one of the ceremonies if you like. They are very welcoming of new visitors.

575 Wandsworth Road, London, was the home of Kenyan poet and civil servant Khadambi Asalache until his death in 2006. This is a really cool, quirky place to visit. Unknown to many but I highly recommend visiting. Only available to visit via small guided tours, I reccomend booking in advance to ensure you get to visit.

Situated between Vyner Street and the Andrews Road gallery enclave, this Mare Street curiosity shop is both on the art circuit and determinedly off any beaten track. Peek through the windows and you’ll see a world in which velvet-cloaked Victorians, or perhaps The Mighty Boosh, might reside.
