Snow Activities

Don't let the name deceive you. Arizona Snowbowl is a great destination for the downhill skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Or for those just beginning on the beginner slope, either on their own or with lessons. However, if eating, drinking, shopping or taking in the view is more enticing, you're in luck. With several options to choose from within the lodge, you can't go wrong. If a bird’s eye view of the breathtaking scenery is a must, take a lift on the Gondola 11,500 feet up. On a clear day, you will be able to see the cinder cone volcanic field, the red rocks in Sedona, and as far as the Grand Canyon. The gondola ride offers great opportunities for some fantastic photography. NOTE: If skiing and you don't have skis/gear, it is recommended to rent in Flagstaff vs on the mountain, which will be faster and easier.

A digital version of the Flagstaff Urban Trails and Bikeways Map for your smartphone or device is available through the Avenza Maps app. The Flagstaff Urban Trails System (FUTS, say "foots") is a city-wide network of non-motorized, shared-use pathways that are used by bicyclists, walkers, hikers, runners, and other users for both recreation and transportation. Some trails are located along busy streets, while others traverse beautiful natural places - canyons, riparian areas, grasslands, meadows, and forests - all within the urban area of Flagstaff. The system connects neighborhoods, shopping, places of employment, schools, parks, open space, and the surrounding National Forest, and allows users to combine transportation, recreation and contact with nature.
