Brilliant hole in the wall. When I say cheap drinks, I mean cheap drinks. Darts and pool table are free. There's a raucous happy hour crew watching Jeopardy. I think they're a jump off point for party busses for Chief's games? Not my jam, but if it's yours, you might want to check that out.

Less heard of by out-of-towners, but I think this is a top 5 barbeque joint in town. Their sides are excellent, the jalapeno sausage is dreamy, and their ribs? oooOOOooo
Get your order in early if you want ribs - they will run out. You may have to wait in line for this, but it's worth it. Go during off hours or call ahead. Tons of outdoor seating with a view of downtown KC.

This is not for to go food - this place went viral after a Karen bitched about not getting basic chain restaurant service and the response was incredible. Go sit down and enjoy yourself. Last visit there was a DJ playing motown on 45s - *chefs kiss*

Kansas City has suffered from significant food deserts across town. This is a new grocery store working to get co-ops on the board here in Kansas City. It's small and figuring out its offerings. They have some organics and vegan offerings, they label local goods, but also offer cheap mac and cheese if that's your bag.
