Sightseeing
If you are here to explore nature then you have come to the right place. We are a short 10-minute drive from the Santa Rosa Plateau visitor center. There are several hikes you can explore in this area.
Our recommended Hikes:
Vernal Pool Trail and Transpreserve Trail Loop. This is a 3.3 miles loop with a 305-feet elevation fairly easy hike and great for families. Depending on the time of the year you can see fairy shrimp, flowers and water in the pools. There is an adobe museum and lots to explore.
Santa Rosa Plateau Trail to Mountain Hill. 6 miles loop easy trail with a 442 elevation. Better to start early in the morning during summer days since this trail is not completely shaded. You will be amazed with all the beautiful views of the plateau , rolling hills and meadows.
Los Santos Trail is an easy 2.2 miles loop with 82 feet elevation. Trail has limited shade. Depending on the time of year you can find lots of cool animals. Lots of beautiful rocks and local vegetation. Great for pictures.
Vista Grande monument hill is a moderate trail. 3.9 miles long loop with elevation of 331 feet. This trail is great to explore the different types of terrain.

Forest Route 7S02Tenaja Falls is located in the Cleveland National Forest. It is about a 20-minute drive from the house. The easy hike is 1.5 miles long and has a 311 feet of elevation. Depending on the season you can find a full flowing waterfall. It is a great place to enjoy a nice picnic at the top of the waterfall.
Step back in time and enjoy this amazing easy to walk town. Here you will find lots of shops, restaurants, breweries, live music and much more. If you are traveling with little ones, Pennypickles children's museum is a great place to take them. The town also offers some amazing plays at the community theater. In the winter time there is an ice skate rink by the community hall. This town has a Farmers Market every Saturday morning and lots of festivities throughout the year.

Old Town Temecula House of Jerky

If you are traveling with little ones, Pennypickles children's museum is a great place to take them. The town also offers some amazing plays at the community theater. La Cresta is only a short drive to the nearest town of Wildomar, where you can find restaurants, supermarkets, shops and much more. We are located about 30 minutes away from Old Town Temecula and Temecula wine country. We are also only 16 minutes away from historic Old town Murrieta, worth exploring for the great restaurants, cafes and shops.
