There are many great Sat markets in CT but nice thing about this one in Hout Bay (not near) is it is also open Sundays&on Fri evenings.Nice crafts to buy&more eating/music there than buying for home.

Saturdays(until 2pm),the Old Biscuit Mill market in Woodstock(driving distance) creates fun vibe around food&social life.It's mostly outdoors so don't go in bad weather.Nice furniture stores near too.

If you love to swim, or have kids, try out Sea Point swimming pool. It's not heated, but for a nominal daily fee, spend the day poolside,just above the ocean.Lots of screaming kids if schools are out.

Great area: Central, vibrant, recreation-friendly, great for tourists - lots of restaurants, bars, nightlife & cafes. The Sea Point promenade provides a beautiful space to relax alongside the ocean.

Surprisingly this canteen type restaurant is quite good. It's not much on atmosphere for many of us, but the food is good and not very expensive if you are looking for Indian food in the neighbourhood

Great atmosphere,diverse crowd, very cheap, yummy sit down or take away Indian food! It's an adventure to order but huge portions at a great price. The restaurant also appears in the movie Safehouse.

Food is good & Sotano is on the beachfront, the atmosphere is nice. The service is slow. It's something that's often a real problem, but if you don't mind waiting,a good place for dinner/drinks/tapas.

For finer dining nearby you can't beat La Boheme.Really good,complex,french dishes.Nice ambience!It's more expensive,but delicious!For the gastronomes,it is a must.I love Balsamic beef fillet risotto.

This resto just in front of the apt is fantastic-very old school.The owner works the grill&you may find it old-fashioned,but locals love it.Divine meat & fish.I love the Pan fried calamari!
