THIS IS THE BEST!!! The diner is cute, great atmosphere and the food is HIGH QUALITY! The best breakfast in town. Before 11 you will beat the rush and if you have to be on the list you wait in your car. Which I don't mind, if I am with friends I get to talk to them longer!

Has a great tuna sandwich, great coffee and AMAZING homemade baked goods/bread. a cozy spot, great for WIFI use. Great breakfast sandwiches as well, they make their own biscuits. It's a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Soup runs out early.

Another good coffee shop! They sell cookies and soup here. I would recommend Avalon over this one if you want anything besides a cup o' joe.

Classic Detroit coffee spot. Great atmosphere and awesome cafe food. In house baked goods are to die for and they have salads, soups and sandwiches all made in house. Closed on Mondays.

Classic Detroit restaurant. Awesome barbecue but is typically VERY busy. If you don't care to sit down go to there other location SLOW'S TO GO about 10 minutes away.

Indian and specifically Bengali food in Hamtramck that is SUPER cheap. If you walk in the parking lot door and sit in that room everything is $1 cheaper and served with paper plates and plasticware. The other room has actual plates/silverware/ et cetera.

Another CHEAP breakfast option - Evie's tamales has breakfast burritos you can custom order for $1 EACH. I would suggest getting two. I like getting eggs, avocado, green onion, tomato, onion, cilantro, cheese.
