Just one exit away on the thru way (Exit 18). Nice drive to Lake Minnewaska, a glacier lake. Great hiking trails, swimming and cycling. Also get a day pass at Mohonk Mountain House or visit for lunch or dinner. Reservations a must.

Fun place to visit for lunch, walking, visiting the shops. Great bagel store. Just ten miles from Woodstock. You can also rent kyacks or paddle boards for use at the beach in Saugerties. Saugerties Marina or I Paddle NY. Inexpensive rentals with instruction.

A drive to Rhinebeck is fun. It's a village, larger than Woodstock. Full of beautiful homes, shops, and restaurants. Be sure to visit the Beekman Arms, an inn and hotel. It's one of the oldest inns in the United States.
