Amazing fish and chips cooked by Ian and his team. We can highly recommend the haddock, having tested most options! You can easily pre-order online too, using their online booking system. It's both Eat-In and Take-Away with a great new restaurant (opened March 2024) and it has a menu that offers much more than just traditional fish & chips. Closed Sundays except for July/August.

It’s a strong thing to recommend a specific pasty place however Philps does have a great range including Mince beef pasties, ones made with puff pastry and loads of others.... and they’re all delicious!

Iced On The Quay.... this place!! Never without a queue but for a great reason - the Cruffins here are insanely amazing and are usually gone by about 30 minutes after opening in high season! Coffees, ice creams, waffles, cakes.... you name it, if it's sweet then they make it!! Dog friendly with counter treats

Bernie and John have added some great Canadian twists to this lovely pub and the Sunday roast here is absolutely perfect!! They are also very dog friendly and even have a dog menu! 86 Commercial RdBernie and John have added some great Canadian twists to this lovely pub and the Sunday roast here is absolutely perfect!! They are also very dog friendly and even have a dog menu! They’ve got an outside addition called The Kraken where you can get burgers/pizza/poutine etc and that’s delicious though not quite sure when it opens up!!!!
This is the ideal place for any time of day... amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners. They're not open for dinner every day so always worth checking on that but Dom and his team always give fantastic service and delicious food! Dog friendly

The food here is fantastic! Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner both Mike and Becky offer great service, delicious food and amazing wine choices! There's also a deli shop attached and you can reserve tables online. Dog friendly.

We’ve not used this ourselves however have heard very good things. Cornwall is a fantastic place to explore and eBikes can take the edge of those hills a bit, and there's also secure storage available at the property should you need it.

Lots to enjoy at Carbis Bay Hotel but we very specifically mean Walters On The Beach. The cocktails here aren't cheap but they are amazing and your waiter Frankie... well, you won't get much lovelier and eager to please plus he’s a cocktail master! If it's not on the menu, just ask him and tell him Nancy sent you!

Lots to enjoy at Carbis Bay Hotel but we very specifically mean Walters On The Beach. This is the loveliest of shops located at the end of Copperhouse end of Hayle. Amongst a variety of great independent shops, this one is the go to place for locally made gifts including jewellery, cups, slippers, trinkets - all sorts! A real favourite for me (Nancy) and my go to place for pressies!

This is about a 2 minute walk from the townhouse and is great if you're looking for a bit of old fashioned pool lounging! It's very safe for kids (the slide is at the shallow end so they can play easily) and it's really nice to lay on the loungers and have a read. There's also a pretty good little cafe there that doesn't look like much but does good cheesy chips etc. and really nice sandwiches - you don't have to be at the pool to visit them either.

Hayle Swimming Pool
King George V Memorial WalkThis is about a 2 minute walk from the townhouse and is great if you're looking for a bit of old fashioned pool lounging! It's very safe for kids (the slide is at the shallow end so they can play easily) and it's really nice to lay on the loungers and have a read. There's also a pretty good little cafe there that doesn't look like much but does good cheesy chips etc. and really nice sandwiches - you don't have to be at the pool to visit them either.
As well as having excellent staff (they're always friendly, I've never known them to be miserable ever!!), Salt does excellent food and cocktails. My preference for an easy day is lunch at Salt followed by a wander back looking at the boats and shops!

This is a great local theme park based in Helston, c. 30 minutes away. Check the local newspaper (The Cornishman) as they often have offers and you can also use Tesco Clubcard vouchers for entry tickets.
During the school summer holidays, they usually have fireworks on one of the evenings. There's plenty of places to buy food but it's also got lots of lovely picnic spots so it's worth taking food with you. The park cater for all ages; as well as rides for both big and small, there's a fantastic Victorian village as well as the 'Britain in the Blitz' experience.
