This is the perfect place to explore World Heritage The WaddenSea. Just climb over the dike and walk several kilometers over the pier. Especially with low tide the views are breathtaking.

Around here are several nice small beaches at the lake. There's a special beach for little children and also a special beach for people with dogs. There's also a restaurant for drinks or icecream.

A very nice day out! You reach the harbour in 15 min. and it's 45 min. on the boat to the island. Schier is beautiful and fun for cycling around, to lie on the beach, visiting the village and relax!

A perfect starting place for walks in the nature of the Kollumerwaard. Several walks start here. The nature reservat is famous for birds and even the enormous white-tailed eagle lives here.
