Carnoustie is a world famous golf facility that is about 35 minutes from the house. Carnoustie has hosted many major tournaments, including the Open Championship, AIG Women's Open and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. In addition to the Championship course, Carnoustie also has the Burnside and Buddon links, both of which are worth playing in their own right.

Excellent coastal walk from the north side of Arbroath's seafront to the small village of Auchmithie. To do the full walk requires doubling back once reaching Auchmithie, or taking a bus back or leaving a car at the end for the return to Arbroath
