Here you'll find a food truck called Toi Toi Food Co and the meals are absolutely incredible - you will not be disappointed! Unfortunately not open on weekends (they do catering too), so if you're around during the week give this place a try. Takeaway only.

Awesome burgers, and menu changes fairly regularly. They do takeaway if you ask! Also nice place to hang out for awhile with a beer and bar snacks.

Lots of spots to pull over and park up to go for a quick dip in the lake. The water is a bit clearer here than other spots closer to Turangi.

Great little walk that you can make as long or short as you want. Best option in our opinion is to start at the reserve at the end of the street the property is on, walk down to the bridge and head up to the lookout. From there you can walk down to the road bridge where you'll find Delta Coffee Cart for a nice mid-walk coffee! Then back along the street to the property.

The birthplace of the haka! Park up and a short walk up the hill will see you at the site of a historical Maori village, with stunning views across the lake to Tongariro. Lots of birdlife here too.

Transport to/from Tongariro Crossing
It's worthwhile booking a shuttle to get you from the property to the start of the Tongariro Crossing, as well as getting you back afterwards. We would recommend using Backyard Tours for this. Saves you the hassle of having to take two cars.
