Awesome local diner with typical Northeastern slightly-surly service. Very American experience if you’ve never been to a diner! Cash only but they have an ATM out front.

Things to do in the area

Great local theater that has been in operations for an age. They usually have two independent but popular films and one movie you’d expect at the big theaters playing at one time. You can buy beer wine and cocktails as well. Fun experience and locally owned!

Amazing for kids, biking, strolls and a pleasant walk to Davis Square. The Somerville Community Path is a long wooded path closed to motor vehicles with a small dog park, a small children's park (Lexington Park), Kenney Park (larger playground and water feature) adjacent to Davis connected, via Davis Square, to the Minuteman Bikeway (another 10 miles of trails). It will also soon be connected to Charles River paths, which is a greenway that goes throughout Boston along the Charles and down thru the Fens.

The subway is exceptionally close - take the "T"

The subway (called the T which runs below and above ground) is the first subway in the US and is a great way to get around - the newly opened Ball Square stop is less than a block away. Much easier and cheaper than paying for parking. The red line (Davis Square) stop is about a 12 minute walk as well.
À ne pas manquer

The North End for history and amazing food!

Best "Little" Italy in the US ! It's about 6 stops on the Subway / T - highly recommended! Mama Maria is great for fancy, Neptune Oyster for seafood (it's popular thou & no reservations), or Bricco for 'red sauce' italian. For fresh cannoli's after dinner, there are two camps: The Modern and Mike's Pastry... Mike's has a longer wait, so I'd recommend Modern (they are both great!) The Freedom Trail goes through this neighborhood and you can visit Paul Revere's house (also near Mama Maria).
