Explore Some Scenic Drives There are many scenic byway drives throughout the Houston Hill Country surrounding the Lake Conroe region. Rolling hills, tall pine forests, and miles of wide-open farm and ranch land define the region. It’s easy to find yourself driving along winding roads with towering pines one minute, and wide-open vistas the next. Explore scenic day trips by starting in Old Town Montgomery and winding through the hills and forests towards Anderson, Navasota, Huntsville, and Livingston: maps will show you the way!
