New American farm to table restaurant that is on watermill. There's outdoor seating. They have tours of their distillery (Hudson Whiskey brand). Highly recommend it - great drinks too!

Awesome farm to table restaurant, we love the property it's on, Buttermilk Falls Spa. About a 30 minute drive from the house.

We love this place! Loads of hiking trails (some with large powerful waterfalls!), swimming, rock climbing, scuba diving, boating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and camping.
It's a great place to visit any time of the year - in the summer hike and wade your feet in the river, and in the winter they can get a lot of snow and the cross country ski trails are well-maintained.

Minnewaska State Park Preserve
5281 Route 44-55We love this place! Loads of hiking trails (some with large powerful waterfalls!), swimming, rock climbing, scuba diving, boating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and camping.
It's a great place to visit any time of the year - in the summer hike and wade your feet in the river, and in the winter they can get a lot of snow and the cross country ski trails are well-maintained.

It's a really beautiful and charming property. They have an animal rescue sanctuary, aviary, and loads of geese! Really great place for kids.

Getting Around
You can take a bus here. There are buses that shuttle back and forth from Port Authority NYC to New Paltz Bus Depot everyday - only a 1.5 hour trip. This bus stop is only about 15 mins from the house, and there is a taxi stand/company at the New Paltz Bus Depot that can drive you to the house for about $12.
