Try the bolones and the fruit bowls! They are iconic in Quito! (far away) but near Santa Marta, an interesting district for shopping for handcrafted and carved wooden furniture.

It's one of Quito's famous brewery's and has delicious food. Nice vibe as well. I recommend the pizza! (There are two locations- this is the farther, more original and worth a taxi ride out there. The closest is off Coruña!

A great experience! You will learn a lot about the culture, a painter here with his works, as well as local traditions. Worth every cent of the $3 entrance fee.
