Owner from New Orleans, offers all the specialties--beignets, etc. If you've got the appetite, try the chicken waffles. Huge plate o' food!

Excellent food, friendly service, romantic atmosphere. Just across Sir Francis Drake, so generally less crowded than the restaurants along Broadway and Bolinas Road.

...Because Fairfax was the birthplace of Mountain Biking, and the whole history is here, from the invention of the bicycle right on through. Lots to learn about the role bicycles played in liberating women, and cyclists will love seeing the epic mountain bikes from the beginnings on.

If you don't want to pay the entrance fee for Samuel P. Taylor, you can also drive past the park entrance and park on the left side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard opposite the sign for Devil's Gulch and hike up the Devil's Gulch trail. You'll see some redwoods there too before the trail takes you up into the hills.

If you don't want to pay the entrance fee for Samuel P. Taylor, you can also drive past the park entrance and park on the left side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard opposite the sign for Devil's Gulch and hike up the Devil's Gulch trail. You'll see some redwoods there too before the trail takes you up into the hills.
You can park here for free and hike up the trail, or at the right times of year, see the salmon spawn.

Park for free at the end of Glen Drive, and hike up the trail. Beginning is wooded, then at the fork at the water tank, you can go either way: left on up to the top of Loma Alta (great spot to watch the full moon rise), or right up to the labyrinth.

If you want to go to the beach, this is less than a half-hour drive away. Cyclists are common on this route --straight out Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, up over White's Hill, and straight on to the ocean. Or Bus 68 from Fairfax will get you there in 46 minutes. The Visitor Center is great, and lots of beaches to choose from. Our favorite is Limantour.
