A local Neighbourhood Bar + Kitchen. Craft beer, burgers, cocktails and a great selection of starters including arancini balls! We go to the courtyard out the back - it feels like you are having a back yard gathering with old friends. Closed on Mondays. Hours vary daily but are generally from 11.30am-10pm or midnight. There is an unsealed car park right next to the Suburban on Moggill Road.

Lovely outdoor setting, you may even get to see a water dragon at your feet. Spend a bit of extra time wondering around the beautiful plants and gifts at the nursery. Open daily from 8.30am-5pm, and from 8am on Saturday and Sunday.

A fabulous repurposed powerhouse that features plays, concerts, comedians and other creative shows, plus a speaker series. The World Press Photo Exhibition is displayed at the Powerhouse and is not to be missed. The best way to reach the Powerhouse is on the City Cat with a short walk through New Farm Park. Treat yourself to a drink on the outside verandah overlooking the river, or have a more substantial meal inside the building. The space itself is intriguing and worth a visit.

If you’d like something more substantial, there is the Summit Restaurant and Bar, modern Australian dining with a panoramic view of the city. The Lookout is a popular place to watch the full moon rise, and many will take a pizza and sit on the lawn to watch. If you are more adventurous, there are many paths that you can walk up to the Lookout through the Mt Coot-Tha forest. We are happy to give you directions. The Lookout is a 15 minute drive from the cottage.

If you like nature, you will love the Botanic Gardens. 56 hectares of subtropical gardens featuring native and exotic plants, plus workshops and events. A new Information Centre has opened and the café has been renovated. Don’t forget to visit the Tropical Dome and the Japanese garden.
The gardens also contain the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. I am ashamed to say I have never been, and on researching it now, wonder why ever not! It takes you about 13 minutes to drive there.

Research before you go as there are guided tours which always give you a better insight into an exhibition. Definitely worth a visit. It will take you 25 minutes to drive here (except in traffic time when Coronation Drive can often slow you down).
