If you are going to get Ice Cream while you are here, this is the place to go. Seating is all outdoors, and they also have an 18-hole mini-golf course. Note: They are only open during the summer.

This is an amazing beach, with lots of space to spread out. Even when it's crowded there is plenty of room for activities. Note: During the summer there will often be a long line of cars to enter the beach, and signs saying that the parking lot is full, but usually it's not too hard to find a spot even when the signs are up.

Tunnel park is a very nice beach right on Lake Michigan, only one mile from our house. There is a playground there, and the beach is dog-friendly during the winter. Note: You have to climb quite a few steps to get over a dune in order to reach the beach. There is no entry fee to the park, and it is often less busy than the state park.
