Has access to quiet and less accesible Playitas beach. The hotel has two restaurants, El Mirador, and Playitas Snack Bar on Playitas. Walk downhill on the right hand fork, first left immediately after the fork. You will need to ask for the electric golf cart to take you to the restaurant.

Security

Crime tends toward non-violent sneak thievery; you are not likely to get attacked, but you should watch your possessions. Follow guidelines you would in any large US city. Lock your car and don't leave your phone/valuables in plain view inside the car. Please do set the alarm on your car. Don't leave your phone/valuables unattended on the beach when you go swimming. You can lock the main door of the house from the outside by pressing the top button above the numbered buttons. You can lock it from the inside using the knob. Parking

Labeled public parking lots - will have listed fees and an attendant; pay when you leave. Business parking lots - will frequently have a uniformed guard, and sometimes a parking attendant. Random places on the street - will have locals who have staked out territory to watch cars. Suggested tipping: Don’t tip a uniformed or armed guard. Do tip a parking lot attendant 500-1000 colones on your way out.

Rip tides

Be very careful on all beaches, many Costa Rican beaches have riptides including the Espadilla, the main beach in Manuel Antonio. Surfers and lifeguards (a few beaches have them) are the best people to ask about swimming safety at that beach.
