Likewise, you could head North along Hearnes Lake beach and Woolgoolga Back Beach to Woolgoolga. There is a challenging set of steps to the headland and the whale watching platform, or skirt around the back of the town via the car park to avoid the climb. Woolgoolga has markets on a Saturday morning, and Eat St. event about 4 times a year, Curryfest. But it's also a great place to do a bit of shopping or have lunch etc.

The Fish Coop is located at the eastern end of the Marina where you can buy fresh fish off the boat or cooked fish and chips.

Local Aboriginal culture in an off the beaten track location. Worth calling into on the way to Red Rock which has a great riverside reserve and classic red rock beach. THe creek is great for kayaking or fishing.
