Good food for brunch or lunch/dinner. Try the manhole cover for brunch (you will want to split it, its huge) and the french fries are amazing.
The moonshine cocktails are really good as well, there is one with sweet tea that will sneak up on you.

If you want to try Dim Sum this is a great place for it. The wonton soup is delicious & they have great lunch specials.

The Pearl is on the edge of downtown and has several restaurants. It is a wonderful place to wander around in the afternoon to soak up some of San Antonio.

The red velvet truffles are to die for. This shop is run by the sweetest old couple and it smells like heaven.

This place has amazing burgers and multiple vegetarian options. They have live music on the weekends in the bar and sitting outside is usually very nice even in the summer. There is no indoor seating unless you want to sit in the bar.

Parks & Nature
This is a little out of the way but it is worth the drive. The nature park is beautiful and has several small hiking trails. And some dinosaur tracks :D

This is one of those nerdy game shops. It is in an old Blockbuster Movie store so it is HUGE. If you are looking for any sort of nerdy memorabilia from Pops! to Doctor Who to Marvel and all of the card games can be found here.

Free on Tuesday Afternoons. This place is actually really cool, they have everything from Dinosaurs to Natural History to interactive displays of the Human Body. It is intended to be a kids museum but it is great for adults too.

This is the main bus station for the area and it is 2 blocks from the apartment. You can walk there quite easily.
