Great for summer hiking because the temperature is cooler then in the city. There is decent snow in the winter so it is a great for sledding and playing in the snow. There is a cute mountain lodge that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A favorite get away for locals anytime of year.

You can rent teepees,car camp, hike into a the hot spring that is just off the road. Great in the fall and winter since the hot spring is 105 degrees. The hot spring sits right off the road, its not inside a resort. So watch for cars parked on the right if you go at night. Since its outside in the open air you can go anytime for day or night. There also is resort near by for those less "connected" to nature. Not for kids.
