Closest restaurant to my house. Get the shrimp po boy. It comes with amazing crinkle fries. Call ahead to order and eat it in my backyard with a beer from my fridge. Make sure to go before 8pm cuz they close then and are cranky by that time!

This place is a market, a small plates restaurant, a bar, and an afternoon general hangout. Get the Modelo on draft or a Vietnamese iced coffee and don't miss the avocado toast and beef skewers!

This place has good cocktails AND good pizza. There's a big backyard or stay inside in the romantic dark lighting. Get the Supreme Pizza until late night.

Sightseeing
Go to the Capital Building and just walk south. After several blocks, turn around and admire the view of the building and cleverness of the layout. They say no buildings are allowed to be built to block an existing view of the capital.

Next to the 2700 Capacity ACL Moody Theater, the smaller 350 capacity 3TEN is my favorite place to see a show in Austin. Just show up if you don't have tickets. Maybe you'll get lucky. If not, hey you're downtown, there's loads to do. Have a wander and if you get stuck, have a cocktail at Garage on Colorado.
