A great place to experience Chicago style food. They have something for everyone from salad to pasta to Italian beef and more. If you've never been, make sure to try the chocolate cake shake. This is a very new restaurant to Mishawaka and will be busy at typical lunch and dinner hours.

If you are looking for German food this is the place to go in South Bend. They do have somewhat unique hours so make sure to check that they are open before heading over.

Probably the closest restaraunt to our place. If you want to try something unique, Javier's offers puerto rican food that comes highly recommended. Especially for breakfast.

This is a great place for BBQ in town. Their food comes in high demand, and they often run out. It is first come first serve and prices may be a tad high, but portions are generous and the food is good.

We haven't personally had a chance to visit the Crooked Ewe yet, but it is on our short list of new places to try. Everyone has raved about the food and drinks here and it is very close to our place.

Located on South Michigan Street, the South Bend Brew Werks is the only brewpub in the downtown area of South Bend. The pub features five house brews: Amber, Black IPA, Oatmeal Stout, Smoked Porter, and Wheat. They also offer five rotating brews.

What can I say? It's Notre Dame.
Take a tour of the South Bend chocolate factory and sample a piece off the line. Tours are inexpensive and the chocolate is delicious. It is a win-win.

Essentials
This is a great place for groceries and gas. They don't have quite as many options as Walmart, but they are a high quality regional grocery store and they are located very close to our house.

Parking: Downtown parking is free during evenings after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends. The best available parking to access the River Lights is along Niles Ave., Colfax Ave., Century Center and Seitz Park.
