It's our little local, a 2 minute walk on the same street as the apartment. Always bustling full of delicious food and Allures coffee. Try their lemon tarts! Fantastic for brunch but open for lunch and dinner also.

To access from the house, walk to the end of Stratford St till you find a little path that leads directly to the Market. Try the pastries - they are to die for!

Judges Bay is my favourite secret spot. Take a picnic for lunch! In summer, the place is buzzing with people diving off the jetty and paddle-boarding. There is a beautiful walk through the rose gardens, down to Judges Bay, through the Parnell Pools and then a loop through one of Auckland's oldest Churches, St Stephen's Chapel (1857) on 12 Judge St. back through the rose gardens and home. Perfect for a relax after work or in the weekend.

Totally recommend a walk/bikeride to Mission Bay. It's an amazing walk along Tamaki Drive and a great place to have an ice-cream or fish and chips! Mission Bay has great views of Rangitoto Island.

Sightseeing
The Sky-tower is well worth a look. Go up to the very top for the best view of Auckland City. There is a fantastic revolving restaurant, but my favourite is "The Sugar Club" - a swanky 1930's-esque cocktail bar on Level 53...For some of the best food in Auckland, try Al Brown's "Depot" restaurant at the base of the Skytower.

Waiheke Island is a must-do over a weekend. You catch a boat downtown Auckland and arrive at this magical island bustling with cute coves and amazing wineries. It's one of my favourite places in the whole world.
