Vine Street is a brewery with great food, not just pub food by any means. Its walking distance from the house, not SUPER close but doable, about a mile. They make great beers and have great murals inside. I've always had great service here. *Tip: its cash only but they have an ATM that is only 1 dollar.

The flagship Punch Bowl Social. This is where it all began. *eating, drinking, bowling, games, and a social atmosphere From award-winning restaurateur, Robert Thompson, comes a new concept that focuses on food and beverage first and foremost, with a compliment of old school, throwback entertainment. Culinary integrity begins in the elevated diner, with their scratch kitchen - locally sourced & organic ingredients, and is heightened by craft cocktails, local beers & spirits, and adult milkshakes. At PBS you will enjoy bowling, ping pong, billiards, darts, marbles, 80's arcade, in a Victorian-style warehouse. PBS is the perfect place for your next event. With space for 10 to 1000 guests, host

"A mortuary converted into a trendy bar and restaurant. The rooftop bar/patio overlooks Denver. " "Linger, which sits in the refabbed Olinger parking garage—a jam-packed, multilevel space with a box view of the skyline. Drink in the experience at the bar from the rooftop patio, or through the main dining room’s enormous garage-door windows. Linger’s menu—an enticing mishmash of street food from around the globe—banishes the entrée in favor of share-it-around small plates. Instead of being trite, portions are generous and prices (which hover around $10) are downright reasonable. It’s not unusual to get your fill (plus drinks) for $30 a person. " ~5280 Magazine

At The Populist we firmly believe that dining is a communal act. Owners Jonathan Power, Noah Price, and Cliff White strive to emphasize this philosophy at every turn. From the numerous community tables to the nature and construction of the dishes on the menu: sharing your environment and your food is emphatically supported. Chef Power presents a regularly changing lineup of New American small plates that both excite and challenge diners. An approachable but nuanced wine list brings excellent bottles from lesser known winemakers to the table. And the cocktail list --featuring both classic and contemporary variations.

To us, this is a Denver staple. Our friend John started the place a little over a decade ago. There is a really cool about the startup process when John went to live in Guatemala before he had enough money to support the restaurant and himself.... pretty rad dedication. that paid off. We salute you, John! There's always a wait. Top notch breakfast spot. Fun design and incredible food. I recommend any of the gourmet pancakes, the breakfast burrito, mimosas - actually, just about everything on the menu...

One of the coolest places to hang out. It is built in the shape of a giant milk can. They always have new flavors of ice cream. Aside from the family-friendly Hirshorn Park across the street, this is the place to see and be seen on "the scene." You may stand in line for half-an-hour to an hour to engage in people watching and to socializing in the afternoon, in the evening before going out for the night or later in the evening as a start to your night. Considered to be one of the more progressive zoos in the country, the Denver Zoo's breeding programs have created a baby boom across the last decade, producing large numbers of infants, who are now "adolescents" of their respective species. Any visit to the zoo is bound to be remarkably entertaining and eye opening as these scamps are continually testing the boundaries of their environments, which have been crafted in nontraditional ways to allow visitors to have closer exposure to animals than most zoo enclosures allow. You won't be disappointed!

Really cute and relaxing botanic park. Great place to visit anytime of the year. Spring: I recommend relaxing among the blooming lilacs! Summer: The entire place is blooming and magical ;-) Fall: The corn maze and pumpkin patch at the Chatfeild Botanic Gardens (30 minutes south) Winter: The greenhouse is like a tropical getaway and the Japanese garden is so peaceful and beautiful in the winter. There is a fun and educational Children's garden and the Hive Cafe is great and serves food from their own garden! Look online to see what days are free!

The Bluebird Theater started hosting live music in 1994, and it didn't take long for the theater, built in 1913, to become one of the city's best-midsized venues. With sculpted capitals, restored Victorian-style paintings and a vaulted ceiling, the place is as much a work of art as any of the touring and local bands that grace its stage. The marquee regularly lights up Colfax with some of the most important names in independent music, as well as lauded locals ready to make the leap from clubs to a bigger stage. In 2006, AEG Live took over the room and made significant upgrades to the production aspects of the place.
