Visit the slate mine, cafe and shop. Take a tour of the slate mine and see what can be made out of beautiful green tinged Honister slate. For those that enjoy extreme adventure there is the Via Ferrata (high climbing and infinity bridge previously used by army for extreme heights training).

Getting Around
Take the train down the Cumbrain coastline to Barrow in Furness and enjoy fabulous scenery at every stop on your way. Carry on all the way to Askam and hop off for a bit of lunch before taking your return journey making a wonderful day out!
