Opatija was one of the first tourist towns in our area. still exudes the atmosphere of the Austro-Hungarian era. You will find beautiful parks, promenade / lungo-mare to the sea, beautiful buildings and many pastries, cafes and restaurants

If you have extra time, I would recommend you to visit Trieste. It is only 50 min drive from Motovun and there is one of the most beautiful European squares all in white...
In the same neighbourhood you check plenty cafes, shops, restaurants, including famous Eataly (Italian answer with affordable restaurant, good quality Italian food, also a shop).
If you go a little further, then Miramare Castle...
