A culinary and artistic cafe in the former engineer's residence of the Zuidergasfabriek in Amsterdam East. The building has several authentic rooms in the old style and is located on the river Amstel. The terras is great for nice weather and this historic mansion is an excellent spot to get out of the busy city center for a couple of hours.

This canal house restaurant only gives you the choice between steak or lobster, but what a great choice it is. The quality is high and the restaurant overlooks a picturesque canal. Making a reservation in advance is a good idea.

The burritomaker has very decent burritos to fuel you back to life. The place is small and mostly suitable for take-out. Eat your burrito outside on the bench while watching the windmill or in the grass next to the canals.
