Our best local taqueria. Great people. Simple but flavorful Mexican food. Open for lunch and dinner. We visit all the time.

Our hometown pizzeria. Nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done. Pro-tip: Order the Smoked Oyster pizza -- it packs more of an umami punch than any food has a right to do.

Fantastic little place with ramen, poke, and other delicious eclectic Japanese-inspired cuisine! Highly recommended.

This is a don't miss local destination. Popular in-season and sometimes crowded, it's still easy to find seclusion and quiet and true beauty down one of the park's many trails. Oregon at it's most natural and most lovely.

For those whose vehicles (gravel logging roads are involved) and sense of adventure draw them off the beaten path -- intrepid travelers will love the short hike to two beautiful forest waterfalls.
Please note, this may not be the best location for small children. There is some exposure and a complete lack of handrails or safety improvements.

Butte Creek Falls
For those whose vehicles (gravel logging roads are involved) and sense of adventure draw them off the beaten path -- intrepid travelers will love the short hike to two beautiful forest waterfalls.
Please note, this may not be the best location for small children. There is some exposure and a complete lack of handrails or safety improvements.
A modest hike through pastures and into the forest leads to this small but peaceful waterfall. Relaxing and sweet.

A modest hike through pastures and into the forest leads to this small but peaceful waterfall. Relaxing and sweet.
A bit further afield, but every bit of this is western Oregon at it's most attractive -- from the drive up the Molalla River canyon, to the hike through majestic forest, to the sweeping views from the top of Table Rock itself.
Only caveat? Lots of exposure at the top of Table Rock. Perfectly safe for adults and kids with a basic survival instinct, but probably not where I would take a toddler or a particularly disobedient youngster.
Table Rock Wilderness
A bit further afield, but every bit of this is western Oregon at it's most attractive -- from the drive up the Molalla River canyon, to the hike through majestic forest, to the sweeping views from the top of Table Rock itself.

Oregon's oldest covered bridge. Set amidst agricultural fields and spanning the Abiqua Creek, this is a charming historic site.
