This is a small quirky restaurant with excellent Italian food and creative decor, most of which is hanging from the ceiling! They don't accept reservations so go early, it is very popular and one of our favorites. Somewhat pricey.

Delicious food for breakfast and lunch and just 2 blocks from our house. There are lots of windows and nice woodwork, a great spot to linger over meals. Moderate prices.

This is actually 2 restaurants overlooking Lake Union, a gorgeous Salmon House decorated in an authentic Native American style that serves great seafood and specialty dishes and the other is a walk up fried seafood bar with outdoor waterfront seating. The views are amazing from either restaurant and the price is cheap for the fast food or expensive for the Salmon House. Definitely worthwhile either way.

The Arboretum is a hidden gem on the shores of Lake Washington. Jointly managed by the University of Washington Botanic Gardens and the City of Seattle, its 230 acres are a dynamic assortment of plants, some found nowhere else in the Northwest. We invite you to take a walk through the Arboretum and discover this living collection of plants from around the world. The Graham Visitors Center contains an information desk and displays, and a gift shop managed by the Arboretum Foundation. The Japanese Garden, located at the south end of the Arboretum has an entrance fee and is managed by the City of Seattle.

The Burke Museum is a great place to visit if you're in Seattle. The museum is family friendly. There are dinosaur exhibits that the kids always love and plenty of exhibits on world culture, as well as the cultures of the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest. A nice small compact cultural museum with not only animal exhibits from dinosaur and Mastodon bones to modern bird plumage and animal skulls but also cultural exhibits of peoples clothing, lifestyles, history.

The Burke Museum is a great place to visit if you're in Seattle. The museum is family friendly. The 75-minute guided walking tour begins beneath Doc Maynard’s Public House, then spills into historic Pioneer Square, Seattle’s birthplace, before plunging underground for an exclusive, time-capsule view of the buried city.
