A nice place for great concerts.. I always check the program before booking our trip to Hungary, just in case there is a great concert we can plan our trip around.

This is a truly stunning building, originally built as an arkad shopping centre.. it operates today as a hotel with a caffe and restaurant downstairs. Possible to book a tour as well to see the building or just to pop in for a coffee and cake to take a look.

Best evening view of the bridges of Budapest. It is easiest to reach with a taxi ride, but worth the trip if you have the time in your agenda.

Buda Castle and Casctle Hill.. if you decide to visit St Matyás Church, it means you are already there.. Nice walks and views in the old town of Buda.

Area with lots of bars and restaurants. A bit touristy, but still very close to the apartment and lots of choice. Italian on the one corner and Mensa on the other are our faves.

Aqua park right in the city. Gives a nice holiday feel, even though it's only 3 tram stops from the apartment. Fun for all ages. Can buy or bring your own food. Nice and easy day out!

There is a challenging adventure climbing park, clean toilets and also a small ice cream and sandwich shop as well. The playground is fenced around so parents can relax with a drink under the shades while the little ones are having fun.

Food Scene
We enjoy discovering new restaurants, where both for food and atmosphere are important for us. Here are some of our personal favourites.
Menza restaurant. It is also Liszt Ferenc square. It is great food, more Hungarian style, and usually a busy. As restaurants are close one another on this square, it is easy for you just to walk around a bit and decide where to sit in. (http://www.menzaetterem.hu/) ) Having said that, List Ferenc square has a bit of a tourist trap feel especially during summer time when people eat outside (that most my friends don’t mind and many many Hungarians eat here as well.)

We like the food also great location, but the place could be anywhere in the world, not particularly Hungarian. Still a good place for a fine quality decent meal. Not the cheapest of options though. We like the food also great location, but the place could be anywhere in the world, not particularly Hungarian. Still a good place for a fine quality decent meal. Not the cheapest of options though. The kitchen is traditional Hungarian style, that has unfortunately relied too much on tourist groups in the last decade and fell behind in quality in comparison to the new restaurants that the Hungarian gastro revolution brought with it in the last decade. Nevertheless the restaurant looks a amazing and it has been renovated during the Covid period of the last two years.

Occasionally they have a not screen campaign whereby you are offered a box in which you place your devices, phones etc.. and if you do not touch them during your meal.. the kids eat for free. Food is nice too, and it is close the the St Stephen Basilica.. good location to stop for lunch.

Great place to fill the belly with some Viener Snitzel at reasonable price level. Small restaurant chain (Buja Disznók) was started by a Hungarian star chef who used to be in fine dining. A lot changed in the last 10 years on the fine dining scene as well in Budapest..
