Food Scene

Kleinsky's is a great little New York style delicatessen that is situated at the bottom of my road, literally 1 min walk from my apartment. They serve great coffee and the most delicious bagels and latkes! My personal favourite thing to order is the Latke Benedict, a definite must try!

Scheckter’s is among the few spots in Cape Town where vegans, health nuts and foodies all rave about! This great little restaurant is 2 min walk from the apartment and their menu offers everything from raw organic cacao and activated mesquite granola jar filled with chocolatey goodness and salted caramel, to the BVB (Best Vegan Burger) accompanied with smashed avocado, caramelised onions and delicious sweet potato fries. I'd really recommend this little spot

This market is cool, convenient and crammed with culinary delights. This vibrant market boasts over 80 food, home and clothing stalls in a 2 000-square metre area Offering expansive floor-to-ceiling views, plentiful seating and a wealth of exciting stalls, this industrial-chic market offers it all. To experience the market, I would recommend taking a leisurely stroll from my apartment along Regent road and you should get there within 10 minutes.

Parks & Nature

The Sea Point Pool is regarded as one of the most beautiful public pools and is an inexpensive excursion. This open-air pavilion has a 50m Olympic size swimming pool, two kiddies splash pools and a deep diving pool with springboard diving equipment including a 5m diving board. It is literally built right on the Atlantic Ocean and the pools are crystalline, circulated with filtered sea water and minimum chlorine levels. This is one of my favourite swimming spots but its also great spot to simply sunbath on the lawn and take in the beautiful ocean views.

5 min walk from my apartment is the exclusive suburb of Bantry Bay, with its beautiful white-sand beach, perfect for sunbathing and watching one of Cape Town’s famous sunsets. At the side of the beach, you’ll find the most gorgeous tidal pool that has become increasingly populate over the last year or two with the “Wim Hoffers” that see the incredible value and health benefits with cold water immersion. The large granite rocks create a wind barrier, helping protect this beach from the wind on those hot, but windy summer days. During our hot summer months, I love spending the afternoon suntanning on Saunders Rocks and jumping off the highest of the rocks into the ocean to cool off.
