A cosy pub with great food - sharing platters, home made pies, steaks, Sunday lunches (excellent) in a lovely location - a gentle walk down to the lake to bird watch or water sports. A scenic drive or cycle back to Argoed Barns.

At the back of a book shop stocking many welsh authors, local interest books and guides. It's a friendly, welcoming place with tasty lunches and good selection of cakes.

This place was a rescued by the local community with help from the lottery. The mill is back working and you can go on a short tour. They produce their own bread which you can enjoy over lunch or tea in the cafe and even buy to bring home.

Sightseeing
This houses the battle honours awarded by Queen Victoria to the RRW after the famous battle at Rorkes Drift (more VCs awarded than in any other battle). Afterwards, visit the Regimental Museum to find out more about the regiment's fascinating history.

The route to Lanthony Priory (either by car or bike) is very scenic and once you get there it is a truly tranquil place wander around. There's a small cafe/pub there too for refreshments.

Everyone should go here once in their lifetime. This world famous book festival is held over 10 days every summer bank holiday. Fascinating, fun,interesting and thought provoking talks by authors who have published books recently. In the evenings there are music or comedy events.

This is a regular stopping off point when we go out on a bike ride. It is on the site of the disused railway and they have used the old carriages to display artwork which is available to purchase on an interest free collector scheme. A nice place to stop off on the way back from Builth Wells for a cuppa and a slice of cake.
