Shopping

I would say it's one of the most complete mall in Jakarta and located nearby. Here's my typical rundown when I visit the mall with friends: - Grab brunch in Union or Monolog - If I want a full lunch, then I'd visit Remboelan - a restaurant that offers Indonesian local foods - Visit some local clothing store (CottonInk) or check-out for high quality affordable glass frames at Bridges EyeWear - Check out some books in Kinokuniya and grab Starbucks before I go back home. If I still have time, I'd visit Sephora at B1 Sogo and visit the local furniture shop right besides it.

Kemang is a furniture/art haven in Jakarta! There are so many unique places nearby, that it's actually hard to just spend half a day here. Not in any way exhaustive, but here are some of my favorite shops: • Juno Home: Stylish yet affordable furniture store to visit! • • Mitra Hadiprana: You can buy paintings, home decorations that are uniquely Indonesian, textiles/kain, and many more • • Dia.Lo.Gue: A beautiful art-restaurant space that is frequently used by local artisans to showcase their space • • Galeri Pot: Vase/Pot local place •

This is NOT your typical shopping mall. Pasaraya is probably Indonesia's first mall, and it is oozing with everything Indonesian! Buy your souvenirs, Batiks, clothing, home decors, and everything HERE, and you won't regret

We like this place because of its live music (almost everyday!). Very nice place to chill and hang-out with friends (although it can get a bit too noisy as the night gets longer)

Food Scene

Really hip and modern Japanese Restaurant! If you do a toast, the bartenders in the center will also chant with you - making the atmosphere more fun to be around. Try this out: • Melted Wagyu Steak • Angel hair with Foie Gras • Mushrooms Truffle • Sake!

This is the newest and one of the best healthy restaurants out there! Very cute resto with a lot of fusion and taste buds experiments. Lines are sometimes quite long during lunch hours, esp on weekends, so I would suggest going there a bit later on weekends (2-3 pm) or on weekdays.

The most "mass" and most complete Indonesian-cuisine restaurant you'll find. If you want something more fancy, you can try Tugu or Nusa Gastronomy.

Their Salted Egg Chicken Rice special is a killler to try (be careful if you have cholesterol, though!) Jakartans love their salted-eggs, and more and more spots now offer the delicacy.

Fried rice is the go-to- soul food if we don't really know what we want to eat. Try their Nasi Goreng Kambing (Lamb), which has been one of Jakartans' favorite food since the 1990s ;)

Though this place buzzes and swarms at night with socialites ;), I prefer to go during the day where you can fully appreciate their nice decorations. Enjoy a tasty lunch here!

Sate Taichan is a different type of "Satay", where the sauce is not only peanut-based, but also garlic-based and chili-based. This is definitely not your typical Satay, but it's super delicious as well.

Arts & Culture

You can see the artifacts, paintings, traditional houses, local wears, and tales of Indonesia's history by visiting just this one place. It's recently renovated, so some parts are closed, but the regular exhibitions held here are quite interesting.

This is the largest sport stadium in Jakarta, originally built when Indonesia hosted the 2007 Asian Cup and named after our founding President, is now a typical place for healthy millenials to sweat on a track run especially on Sundays.
