This is a few minutes stroll from Talbot House. One of the oldest pubs in the village with a long history. A must to see is the dog wheel, which used to turn the spit at the open fire in the past. Staff are friendly and a good atmosphere. Food usually very good.

Almost opposite the entrance to Lacock Abbey is the Red Lion. This large Waddingtons pub has a good selection of foods available. On occasion during village celebrations it will run a hog roast and BBQ.

Lacock Abbey is surrounded by quite extensive grounds and fields with the River Avon flowing through. The Abbey has a fascinating history from being an abbey to becoming a family home. It is linked to a member of the Talbot family who was a pioneer in modern day photography. The Fox Talbot museum is within the Abbey grounds. Many well know films have used the Abbey as their location including some of the Harry Potter films.
