Food Scene

Delicious food that is somewhat healthy if you want it to be! It gets crazy crowded so if you go I recommend going for actual breakfast rather than brunch. It’s all vegetarian but meat eaters love it too.

This is a new Austin chain of Korean food with a sort of American influence. I like their rice bowls and people generally love their kimchi fries. It's more of an eatery than a restaurant (think nicer than Chipotle but not quite a restaurant). They also serve beer.

This is a brewery (but AirBNB insists it's a restaurant). This is a cool, hip place on the East side. There are a ton of other bars within walking distance to Lazarus.

I haven’t spent too much time here but I like the vibe and it’s generally popular.

My running group goes here every Saturday morning and before 9:30 it’s not too crowded. Good coffee and breakfast food.

In addition to being a brewery, they serve great pizza and are less than 10 min from my apartment. Live music on some nights, so be sure to check their schedule.

This is the only bar super close to my apartment. It’s legendary for being a gas station turned convenience store turned bar turned Indian restaurant turned music venue (it is currently all of those things except a gas station). It’s a 5ish min walk from my apartment and is very chill.

This is 20-25 min from my apartment and is a gorgeous brewery. Like the kind of place you would want to have a wedding. The beer is so good. There’s one that’s a sour kept in a whisky barrel and it is probably the best beer I’ve tasted in my life. It’s a bit of a drive but worth it, especially since the city is super crowded this weekend. I think it’s near Hamilton pool but I could be wrong. They also serve pizza.

The Highball has so many fun things going on. Check out their website for more information but throughout the week they'll have great cover bands (to get you dancing), karaoke, trivia, and a veryyyyy inappropriate bingo night. It's right next to Alamo Drafthouse so it's perfect for a movie then night out.

Sightseeing

a park with lots of graffiti, about a 15 minute drive away, but it can get REALLY crowded on the weekends. I took some friends there in February and I literally could not drive up to it to drop them off because the traffic was so bad. I made them walk a bit and then found parking on Blanco St & W 10th, which wasn't too far of a walk for them to come back to my car.

Parks & Nature

This will probably be very crowded because it's all of a sudden crazy hot but it's definitely worth checking out. It's a pool that's fed by a natural spring and feels like a pool/lake hybrid. The entry fee is $3 for residents and maybe $8 for non-residents. They have never asked me for proof of residency so you can probably get away with saying you live here. My recommendation is to go to the entrance off of Azrie Morton Drive. It's a lot less crowded than the entrance on the inside of Zilker Park.
