Open only on Wednesdays through Sundays, this place is the most authentic Mexican food I can find. It's also SUPER budget friendly. You'll walk out of here feeling stuffed and completely happy that you ended up coming here. This place is extremely casual. Be warned: you'll end up smelling like a grease trap afterwards.

Another one of my favorites, this place is great for southern comfort food. It's a diner setting with diner prices. Order from the breakfast menu and get biscuits and gravy or steak and eggs or pancakes. Their chicken fried steak rocks too!

This place rocks for food and drinks. They do an excellent job in serving up delicious food in a very classy environment. It was just redone and is located in an iconic and historic hotel here in Nacogdoches. Be forewarned that this doesn't have the proper lighting for dinner, but their bar (with a great atmosphere and lighting) serves a full menu too!

They specialize in Caddo Indian Mounds and history. You can walk around the sites and sign up for their activities they host every weekend!

They specialize in Caddo Indian Mounds and history. You can walk around the sites and sign up for their activities they host every weekend!

Open only on the weekends, this place is a favorite of mine. Crafting delicious beers, this place is it for an excellent IPA or a porter. I love craft beers and have tasted some from all over the world; Fredonia Brewery can hang with the best of them. Try out their 'Doches beer. They're only open on the weekend. They'll have food trucks outside for food options.

This is directly related to Stephen F. Austin with a stunning trail devoted to seasonal natives to the Nacogdoches area. It is the home to the Azalea Trail every spring; houses tall pines; beautiful hydrangeas in summer to fall; and has stunning art sculptures throughout the trail made by Stephen F. Austin faculty and students.

About a 45 minute drive from Nacogdoches, you'll find this trail covered in pines. If East Texas pines is your thing, this is the place to be! Great for camping and walking through nature.
