Made famous by Henry David Thoreau, Walden Pond is my absolute favorite summer spot. A 15 minute drive away, this pond is a little slice of tranquil paradise. To make it a full day-trip, visit the nearby Sculpture Park too!

I'm not actually recommending the Children's Museum (although I'm sure it's great and if you have kids, definitely a great place to visit), but rather the boardwalk that starts at the museum. If you follow this boardwalk past the Barking Crab and keep going until you reach the Institute for Contemporary Art (I recommend!!!), this is a beautiful stretch of the seaport that offers spectacular views of Boston and the harbor.
