Just beside the sign of the Takahe is a lovely small park with excellent viewing platform to see out over the city. Access to Victoria Park is just behind (see Victoria Park Rd)

A cool place to explore, some nice walks from here. A great day or half day trip is to go to Lyttlelton, then onto Diamond harbour - just exploring.

You can catch the Ferry from Lyttleton to here. Excellent for a pinic and half day of walking/soaking in the views.

Originally a french settlement. Amazing views on the drive here. Also recommend stopping at Little River on the way and at Barry's Bay cheese shop (just before Duvachelle).
