Food Scene

This is a friendly local restaurant with the juiciest kebabs in town. Not the "hangover" type but the sit down and enjoy type.

If you love eggs as much as we do, you will love this place. They started as a crowdfunded enterprise and their goal is to serve imaginative plates based on eggs using recipes from all over the world - the menu changes seasonally but the shakshuka is always a must

In very few words this is the freshest, yummiest pizza in the neighbourhood and it stays open late! The atmosphere is always upbeat and the guys that work there are a pleasure.

Akari looks like a local pub but what a treat! This place serves a huge Japanese menu, including the usual sushi and sashimi but also an amazing variety of tempuras, salads and hot dishes such as fried salmon (my personal favourite). Almost always packed - for a good reason - so make sure you book ahead

I love this place, it is certainly busy and would not recommend it for Friday and Saturday nights. I think you would enjoy it more on a laid back Thursday when it's quiet. The environment is so beautiful you would want to hang out there for the whole evening. The pizza is also great - thin dough and some pretty unusual flavours that do tie in

Parks & Nature

One of my favourite parks, right at the end of Stoke Newington Church street. There's a lake as well as a canal that runs through it and there are lot's of spaces for kids as well: a paddling pool, deer park, chicken and goats park, a butterfly cage and community garden. If the day is pleasant there is no better place for a picnic with artisan bread and wine that you can easily find in Church street

London Fields little park is the place to see and be seen if you are the arty - foodie and music type :) One of the few open BBQ spaces in London is situated in the south part of the park so on a sunny day you might want to come early to find a spot and enjoy making your burgers as much as people watching. The rest of the park is quiet and pleasant all year round but it is worth visiting during early summer when the wildflowers patch is in fool bloom! Broadway market is very close by and worth a visit too

Arts & Culture

Our friendly neighborhood cinema is a great place to watch an independent movie, a documentary or one of the good quality blockbusters alike and by doing this you are helping a local institution carry on! Great value on Mondays when there is a one + one ticket offer

What a great place for a night out this is! A restored Music Hall with many features that remain unchanged since the 1800's. Go catch a play or just relax for a drink after a walk along the Thames - The cabaret listings are superb and so are the concerts

Sightseeing

It started as a low key local produce market and it has become something of an institution with 135 stalls selling anything from fresh bread to vintage records - make sure you wander around as apart from the street market there is also the school yard market situated a few steps north west close to the park. The best Katsu Chicken wrap can be found there
