This is the ferry building that has served commuters going across the bay throughout San Francisco's history. It is still heavily used today. The area surrounding it is beautiful, and a small pop-up market of custom made crafts is on the other side of the plaza.

The top of the tower offers a 360* view of the city. The stairwell leading to the top is completely done in fresco paintings. This is very popular, and the lines very long, so it would be best to get there early.

This spot requires quite a hike! One optional path can make it almost like you are climbing a cliff wall. Once you make it to the top you'll see the hike was well worth it with the beautiful views of the city. Make sure you bring plenty of water.
